Told You So (#IWSG March 2020)

I told you it was going to happen.

I knew it wasn't going to last.

The last few weeks have sucked. The whole family has been battling the flu. I've missed a ton of work during the busiest time of the year. My son had a fever for 8 days straight. My wife's health is at its worst it's been in awhile. Not to mention a couple of other crisis that are about to explode in our face.

Needless to say, I haven't had much time for writing.

I loath this time of year. I don't know what it is, but the first couple months of the year are always so stressful. Here's hoping it calms down by late April/May, like it usually does.

Oh, one little bit of good news, though:

Sci-Fi and Fantasy magazine The Weird and Whatnot will be publishing one of my stories in an upcoming issue! That's pretty cool, and very unexpected as it is a story I've been trying to place for awhile. I will of course share more details when they become available.

That's it for me this month. How was your February?

Hugs & Kisses,
-CDGK

The first Wednesday of every month is officially Insecure Writer’s Support Group day. Writers post their thoughts on their blogs, talking about their doubts and the fears they have conquered. It's a chance for writers to commiserate and offer a word of encouragement to each other. Check out the group at http://www.insecurewriterssupportgroup.com/.

Sorry everyone has been sick! Not a good time for it.
Congratulations on the story!

My hubs has had a downturn in health, which has contributed to an unexpected writing hiatus for me, so I can completely understand your frustration. But hey! Kudos on the story placement! An awesome silver lining.

I'm sorry everyone has been sick! I've had three colds this winter, but luckily nothing worse than that.
Congrats on getting your story published!

I'm so sorry to hear about your son and wife :( Super not a fun way to start the year. I hope they get better soon, and that you're through the early-year slump. Congrats on the story publication! It'll be the first of good news to come :)

Oh that sucks that all of you have been so sick. My great grandmother knew how to deal with a fever and my mom learned about this which helped me and I do it now for my hubby when he has a fever and it works. You take a towel and wet it down in very warm water, ring it out and take a dry towel as well. Wrap the wet towel around the calves and then wrap the dry towel and do your best not to move. The towel will feel cold but it really isn’t. About 20 minutes or so, feel the towel and it will feel much drier. Re-wet it and do the same thing. It make take a couple of hours or more but the fever breaks! It works every time and people laugh at me when I tell them this but it works. On a nicer note, congrats on your story and I got a kick out of seeing the cover art
